Spring into Summer with Straw Hats

Straw Hats have been said to be the least-changed form of headgear. There are fine art paintings that depict straw hats being worn in the 15th century yet you probably wouldn't even look twice if you saw someone walking down the street wearing a similar hat.
Straw hats are lightweight and can protect you from the sun's ultra-violet rays.

When making a straw hat the maker will steam the straw or submerge it in water before being formed by hand.

Hats made of straw are relatively inexpensive however the larger the hat the more it will cost. The higher price relates to the labor that is required to weave a greater size.

Over-sized straw hats will have a wavy brim as a result of gravity. Many celebs are sporting these "Floppy Hats"

Boater Hats are historically worn by men but as time goes by and fashion trends change you will see many girls trending this style. There are some vintage brands and styles of boater hats that are very collectible if kept in good shape.
